Just to fill folk in...

Just to fill folk in...

Some of you will recall that in July 2007 I was assaulted - if you remember, I was beaten around the head by a four foot length of fence post and considered that I was lucky to be alive after it.

Well, I was not as lucky as I thought. Since the incident I have changed - not in any physical sense, but it appears that I have undergone a personality change.

This personality change is, on the surface, quite minor, but underneath, it is quite radical. For instance, some people who I used to enjoy spending time with, I no longer enjoy spending time with, and vice versa.... and that is very hard to deal with. Foods I used to enjoy, I no longer like... and again vice versa. (I have even been eating fish!)

My sense of humour, for example, has become a lot darker - in fact I would use terms like cruel and insensitive at times....

Interestingly enough, professionally, I am better - far more focused and direct - I always did want to be a decent nurse!

Socially, I am now far more isolated - I find it hard to be around people, especially people I used to know well. I tend to keep my own company and am often uncomfortable around people - sorry to any who think I have been snubbing them!

I have been looked at by assorted medics, psychologists, trick cyclists etc - and they have reassured me that I am not mad.... and not depressed or suffering from post traumatic stress disorder - just that I have undergone a change, and guess what... there is no treatment that will help or indeed do anything - I will just have to get on with life and try to start again in many ways - in actual fact, in all ways.

(I have also considered that this is all down to just a huge mid life crisis but I am saving that for next year!)

This has had a huge effect on life at home - I would like to say a huge thank you to Val who has supported me through all this - and yes, that is a hard subject - lets just say we will continue to do our best for michael. We share our house and are close... we even have rows sometimes.....! our future is hard to see for us, and that saddens me :(

Guess that sums it all up - and this was not a way of getting sympathy, but just that I and Val thought that people should know what has been going on, and be aware that things have changed.

Moving... dates and times

No pictures, but just a quick word to say that we are moving house

After 15 years of living in Beccles, we are moving to Loddon. A large part of this is due to the crap way that Suffolk seem to be approaching their educational strategy.. the local borstal, sorry comprehenesive, The John Leaman is already over subscribed - meant to have 1000 pupils and now has 1200 - with the closure of the middle schools they were meant to be amalgamated into the senior schools... so the current plan is to establish a lower school for the leaman in the old middle school... scary thing is, we pay for this idiocy!

I have long stated that I did not want Michael to go to the Leaman as the little bastard who assaulted me - Oren Souter for those that had forgotten the name, is an outstanding representative of what that school can produce - feral kids with no hint of civilisation.
(I have no doubt that some children do well there - but lets just say that the school does not have what you could call a glowing reputation...).
I Guess that is another reason why we are leaving Beccles - 3 years on, I am still hurting from that assault - and seeing the scrote wandering Beccles does not make it any easier - anyway - onwards and upwards. We have sold Milliways and are off!

Introducing.....

Billy and Fizz, our new felines! These two, thanks to a lovely lady
called jan, came to us a week or so ago. As you can see they are
setting in well and have started sleeping where ever they fancy.
Michael already seems to love them, and even though they are not his
beloved GabGab they do get a lot of michael "huddles" - a cross
between a hug and a cuddle

Road trip

Off to the club aprilia national meet!

Thursday, April 30, 2009

As some are aware we lost our lovely Balinese Princess earlier this week - and I still have a lump in my throat as I type this.

She came to us as a resuce cat - just in need of a home. I think she must have thought she had died and gone to Cat heaven - she had her own willing two legged slaves, and all the adoration a princess could want.

With michael she was amazing - as we approached Michaels birth we were buying cat nets and getting a little nervous - as i guess all folks must do in similar situations. We need not have worried as she not only tolerated michael, but loved him - he was reguarly checked on by her, and she often chose to cuddle up with him.
He also spent a lot of time with her - indeed "GabGab" was one of his first phrases and he always looked for her for a feline cuddle everyday.

So far he does not seem to have missed her, though he does look around for her to play with.

We really do miss her - she always slept on Val's pillow and now the house seems empty.

She really is in cat heaven now, and I guess we should be thankful for the time we shared with her - i hope she was as happy with us as we were with her

Sleep Well Gabi

Val has been to see the family and while there David gave Michael a present - a play guitar.
A play guitar with noise.
Much though I like the guy, and Michael loves his uncle David... I will have revenge!

Being English

Well someone really enjoys his fish and chips! For health reasons we have no salt and vinegar but we do have ketchup!

Obviously such things as cutlery are not needed - that's my boy!
